Our organisation is our community: participants, dance facilitators, administrators and Board, as well as partners and sponsors. We like the mantra from Karen Bass: no celebrity-style leadership*. So you won't see CEO here.
We rely on volunteers from within our community as much as we can. That way our income can be used to offer programs as widely as possible.
Life Dance Community Limited is run by the following groups, an individual may have more than one role:
Board
Our Directors bring knowledge and experience from backgrounds including health, community organisations and other human services areas. They monitor progress against goals, provide guidance, ensure good governance and are links to strategic relationships.
Administration
This group is responsible for day to day running of the organisation, including:
- responding to queries
- communication with participants
- record keeping including financial records
- dance session scheduling
- session bookings
- promotion (advertising and social media)
- ensuring procedures are followed
- continuous improvement
- reporting to the Board.
Dance facilitators
This team runs our dance sessions. Facilitators generally have several years of experience in addition to their training which can take up to three years. We can also choose to offer student facilitators who have completed training the opportunity to host sessions under supervision. When engaging facilitators we give preference to applicants who also have experience in other roles working in community or human services organisations. (If you are an experienced facilitator who is interested in joining us, there is more information here).
